Missing canonical
A page does not say which URL is its main version, which leaves duplicates for search engines to sort out.

How Lastmod finds it
The crawl reads the canonical link in the head of each page and flags pages that have none.
What you do
Add a canonical link that points to the page's own preferred URL, with the full address.
How the work is followed up
Lastmod looks for your change on the live page and closes the opportunity when the problem is gone. Clicks are followed as context, not as the proof.
