Missing page with search traffic
A page that used to bring search traffic is gone, so visitors who still look for it land on an error.

How Lastmod finds it
Lastmod matches pages with earlier clicks in Search Console against what the crawl and the live site return, including a redirect that ends on an error or on the homepage, or loops back on itself so the page cannot be reached.
What you do
If it moved, redirect the old address to the page that covers the same topic. If it was removed by mistake, put it back.
How the work is followed up
Lastmod looks for your change on the live page and closes the opportunity when the problem is gone. Clicks are followed as context, not as the proof.
