Lastmod measures your AI visibility. It asks ChatGPT and Google AI Mode the questions you approve, a few times a week, and counts how often your website is named or used as a source. Counts first, a percentage only when there is enough to stand behind.

How the measurement works
A sample of answers, not a ranking. That is why the numbers come with their limits.
- You choose the questions
- Lastmod suggests questions people could ask about what you offer. Only the questions you approve are asked. Per website you follow 25 on Starter, 25 on Pro and 25 on Agency; how often each is asked depends on your plan: 3× a week on Starter, 5× on Pro, 5× on Agency.
- Counts first, then a percentage
- A percentage appears once at least 30 answers were measured in 28 days. Until then you see counts, and the interval around a percentage shows how much it can still move.
- A sample, not a reason
- Two assistants, asked without an account or conversation history. It shows how often you are named. It does not show why, and it does not show that a change to your website moved it.
More than a mention count
Three more things around AI answers that you can read without leaving Lastmod.
- Can AI crawlers read your site?
- Lastmod reads your robots.txt per AI crawler (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and others) and reports which ones are blocked, so a block is a decision and not an accident.
- AI Overviews that skip you
- For search terms where you already rank in the top 10 and Google shows an AI Overview without naming your site, Lastmod records a decision for you to take. It does not claim a fix is available.
- Visits from AI assistants
- Connect Google Analytics 4 (optional, read-only) and Lastmod shows per page how many sessions came from assistants such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. Below 10 sessions it says there are too few to show a number.
What this does not tell you
- Why your name appears or does not. AI answers vary from one day to the next.
- Whether a change to your site moved the count. Lastmod shows the count; it does not link it to a task.
- Anything about assistants other than the two it asks, ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.
