Developers
Your Lastmod data, in your own tools.
A read-only API, webhooks and an MCP server give your scripts, dashboards and AI assistants the same websites, opportunities, tasks and results you see in Lastmod, and tell them when something new is there.

What you can read
Everything is read-only and belongs to your organisation. Base address: https://api.lastmod.ai/v1
- Websites
- GET /websites. The websites you can see, with domain, language and the state of the connection and the latest crawl.
- Opportunities
- GET /websites/:id/opportunities. What Lastmod found, on which page, with the reason, the evidence and how sure it is. Filter on status or type.
- One opportunity
- GET /websites/:id/opportunities/:id. The evidence saved at the time, and how and when it was resolved.
- Tasks
- GET /websites/:id/tasks. Status, page, expected impact, progress through the steps and the state of the measurement.
- Results
- GET /websites/:id/results. What was measured after a task, with the confidence of each result and the flags for what else may explain it.
- Search performance
- GET /websites/:id/kpis and /timeseries. Clicks, impressions and position for a period, and per day.
Webhooks: we tell you when something happens
Add an HTTPS address in Organization settings and choose which events it receives. Each message carries ids and a link, never the findings themselves.
- opportunity.created
- Lastmod found a new opportunity on one of your websites.
- task.result_ready
- The measurement after a task is ready to read.
- integration.error
- A connection, such as Search Console, stopped working and needs your attention.
- Signed
- Every delivery carries a signature made with a secret only you and Lastmod know, and a timestamp, so you can check it came from Lastmod and was not replayed.
- Retried
- If your address does not answer, Lastmod tries again for about a day. Every retry has the same event id, so you can ignore a repeat.
- Thin on purpose
- The message holds ids and a link to the read-only API. Details stay behind your API key, so scoping and wording stay in one place.
Two ways in
Which one you use depends on what is connecting.
- API key
- For scripts, dashboards and developer tools. An owner or admin creates the key in Organization settings, chooses the access and how long it stays valid, and copies it. Lastmod shows it once.
- Sign in with your account
- For chat apps such as Claude and ChatGPT. You add Lastmod as a connector and approve it with your Lastmod account, so there is no key to copy.
The MCP server
The same data as tools an AI assistant can call. You ask in your own words; the assistant picks the tool.
- list_websites
- Which websites the assistant can see.
- list_opportunities, get_opportunity
- What Lastmod found, and one finding in detail.
- list_tasks, list_results
- Your tasks and what was measured after them.
- get_kpis, get_search_timeseries
- Search performance for a period, in total and per day.
Safe by design
What stays true whichever way you connect.
- Read-only. Nothing connected this way can change a website, a task or your account. A webhook only tells you something happened.
- Only an owner or admin can create a key or approve a connection, and only for websites they can open themselves.
- A key is shown once and can be revoked. Every connection is listed in Organization settings.
- A webhook address must be public HTTPS; Lastmod refuses addresses that point into a private network. The signing secret is shown once, and you can rotate it without a gap.
- It is included in Starter, Pro, and Agency. It is not part of the free trial.
