Lastmod vs Ahrefs
Ahrefs is built around its own web-wide data on links and keywords. Lastmod works from your own site and Search Console, with limited outside data around those queries: it ranks the changes to make and measures them.
Ahrefs
Its own index of the web
Lastmod
The evidence layer for your own site
Which fits
Choose Ahrefs if
- You need backlink, keyword or competitor data about the wider web.
- You track rankings for keywords beyond what Search Console shows you.
Choose Lastmod if
- You want to know which change on your own site to make next, and what happened afterwards.
- You want a result on thin traffic to say “not enough data” rather than show a figure.
Side by side
What Ahrefs does comes from its own website. Where that page doesn't name something, the table says “not mentioned”.

What Lastmod does differently
Your own data, in tasks
Lastmod turns your site crawl and your Search Console data into ranked tasks, each with its reasoning, evidence and how sure it is.
It follows the change through
Lastmod looks for your new text on the page, then measures clicks before and after, says how reliable the measurement is, and says so when there is too little data.
No web-wide index
Lastmod has no backlink index, no keyword database and no rank tracking. It observes search results only for queries already in your Search Console, as dated snapshots, and does not research competitors beyond that.
It never edits your site
You make the change; Lastmod checks it and measures it.

Where Ahrefs is better
Data about any site
