Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-04

This is the initial version of our terms, published ahead of our public launch and currently under legal review. Wording may still change; material changes will be announced. Questions: legal@lastmod.ai.

These terms govern your use of Lastmod, the SEO platform at lastmod.ai (“the service”). By creating an account you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself or the organisation you represent.

1. The service

Lastmod monitors your own website’s search performance and metadata, suggests improvement opportunities, and measures the effect of the changes you record. Lastmod is an analysis and monitoring tool: you decide which changes to make to your website, you make them yourself, and you remain responsible for your website at all times.

2. Accounts and acceptable use

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You may only connect websites that you own or are authorised to manage — ownership verification is a required step. You may not use the service to infringe the rights of others, to circumvent usage limits, or to disrupt the service.

3. Trial, subscriptions and billing

New organisations start with a 14-day free trial. After the trial, the service continues only on a paid subscription, billed per month through our payment provider. Prices are listed on the pricing page and exclude VAT. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If payment fails and is not resolved, your account is reduced to read-only access before any data is deleted.

4. Your data

You own the data you bring to the service — your website data, Search Console data and recorded changes. You grant us the licence needed to process that data to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. You can export your data and delete your account at any time.

5. Aggregated insights

Lastmod may derive statistical, aggregated insights from how search performance responds to on-page changes across customer websites (for example: “title changes that increased title length were followed by a median +8% in clicks”). Such insights are computed only from derived characteristics of a change (the type of change, whether the text became longer or shorter, whether it contains a year) and its measured effect — never from URLs, page content, search queries, domain names or customer identifiers — and are only used once they are supported by at least 30 measured changes across at least 5 unrelated customers. Aggregated insights do not identify you, your website or your users, are not your data in the sense of section 4, and may be used to improve the service for all customers. You can exclude your organisation from contributing at any time in your organisation settings; you will continue to benefit from them.

6. Third-party services

Connecting Google Search Console is subject to Google’s own terms, and you can revoke Lastmod’s access at any time via your Google account or by disconnecting the integration. We are not responsible for changes Google or other third parties make to their services or data.

7. No guarantee of results

Search engines are outside our control. Measurements in Lastmod are estimates with explicitly stated uncertainty: a confidence indication is a heuristic based on effect size and sample size, not statistical proof, and never a guarantee that a change caused a result or that results will repeat. We warrant honest measurement, not rankings, traffic or revenue.

8. Availability and changes to the service

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may improve or change the service over time; we will not materially reduce the core functionality of your plan during a paid period without notice.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the event, and we are not liable for indirect damages such as lost profits, lost data caused by third-party services, or the outcome of changes you make to your website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your organisation at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms, after notice where reasonable. Upon termination you can export your data; after deletion, data is removed as described in the privacy policy.

11. Governing law and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by Dutch law; disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced to account holders in advance. The date above reflects the latest version. Contact: legal@lastmod.ai.
