How Lastmod finds it
The crawl reads the static HTML of your homepage and checks for Organization, Person or WebSite markup. Markup added by JavaScript or a tag manager is not seen.
What you do
Add one JSON-LD block to the homepage with your organization or name and the name of the site. Many CMS plugins can do this.
How the work is followed up
Lastmod looks for your change on the live page and closes the opportunity when the problem is gone. Clicks are followed as context, not as the proof.
