Click-through rate (CTR)
Click-through rate is the share of impressions that lead to a click: clicks divided by impressions, usually shown as a percentage.
A page shown 1,000 times and opened 20 times has a click-through rate of 2%. Search Console reports it for every page and query.
CTR depends heavily on position: results near the top get far more clicks than results further down. A low CTR therefore means little by itself; it says more when you compare it with pages at a similar position, or with the same page over time.
