Quick wins
Find pages that rank almost on page one but get few clicks
Lastmod looks in Search Console for pages that rank between position 4 and 10, are seen often, and get few clicks. That mix points at the title or the meta description.
What the problem is
A page that ranks, is shown often and still gets few clicks is already doing the hard part: search engines think it is relevant. What is missing is a reason to click, and that is the one thing you can change on the page itself in an afternoon.
A better title or description is not meant to move the page up. It changes how many of the searchers who already see it open it. That is also why the difference is easy to measure, and why it can turn out to be nothing: Lastmod reports what happened afterwards, whatever it is.

Needs
Google Search Console
What you do
Open the task
It shows the page, its position, its impressions and clicks in the last 28 days, and the click-through rate you are measured against.
Rewrite the title and the meta description
Look at what searchers type to find the page and make both match it. Say plainly what the page gives them.
Mark the task done and enter the new text
Lastmod fetches the page and looks for the new text, then follows the daily clicks against the 28 days before.
How the result is measured
Measuring needs a working Search Console connection; without its data there is no baseline to compare against, so a task made without it gets its implementation checked, not its clicks. About 30 minutes after you mark the task done, Lastmod fetches the page and looks for your new text, and says so when it can't check. It then follows daily clicks for 21 days against the 28 days before, and waits 3 days for Search Console data to settle. The result says how reliable the measurement is; with fewer than 400 impressions in the baseline the answer is “not enough data”, never a percentage. A result is not proof that the change caused it.
