Find pages with no meta description
Lastmod flags indexable pages that have no meta description, or an empty one, so you can write the short text that appears under your result.
What the problem is
A meta description is not a ranking factor, and Google may show a different snippet if it thinks another one fits the search better. But it is the text you offer the searcher, and a clear one can be the reason they click your result rather than the next.
With none at all, the snippet is taken from the page and may start in the middle of a menu or a cookie notice. Pages that are also close to the first page of results are the ones where a better snippet is most likely to show up in clicks.

- This page has no meta description, so the text under its search result is taken from the page itself.

How Lastmod finds it
The page has no meta description, or an empty one.
Needs
Access to your domain (verified, or through Search Console) and an XML sitemap
What you do
Open the task
It names the page and shows that no meta description was found in its HTML.
Write one or two sentences
Say what the page offers and why it is worth opening, in plain words. Write it for the searcher, not for the engine.
Mark the task done and enter the text
Lastmod fetches the page and looks for the description, then measures the clicks that follow.
How the result is measured
Measuring needs a working Search Console connection; without its data there is no baseline to compare against, so a task made without it gets its implementation checked, not its clicks. About 30 minutes after you mark the task done, Lastmod fetches the page and looks for your new text, and says so when it can't check. It then follows daily clicks for 21 days against the 28 days before, and waits 3 days for Search Console data to settle. The result says how reliable the measurement is; with fewer than 400 impressions in the baseline the answer is “not enough data”, never a percentage. A result is not proof that the change caused it.
