CTR decoupling

CTR decoupling is a page keeping its impressions and its position while its click-through rate falls, so rankings and clicks stop moving together.

Rankings and clicks normally move together. When they part, the page is shown as often and in the same place, but fewer searchers open it. The likeliest place to look is the results page: a featured snippet, an AI answer, another search feature, or a result that reads better than yours.

From your own numbers you can see that the pattern exists, not what causes it. A tool that names one specific cause from this data is guessing.

In Lastmod

Lastmod flags a page when impressions stay at 90% or more of the earlier level, position gets no more than 0.5 places worse, and click-through drops by 40% or more, comparing the last 7 days with a 28-day baseline. It reports the pattern, not a cause.
